Good to hear you both caught fish.  I didn't get out last weekend, but I hope to get out again soon.

When I go out to fish I like catching fish.  I know about the nice atmosphere and being out there and all that, but I need to action when I go fishing and the more the better.  I don't eat them because when I get home, I don't feel like cleaning fish and most times the places I fish are catch and release regulations anyway.

I fish the same streams all the time so I guess I'm spoiled when I don't catch what I know is there.

We went to what the boys lovingly call "The Basshole" today, caught one small large mouth bass, two really big large mouth bass, and one small catfish.  I let Steve Jr take the catfish off the line; I've never done that before and I didn't want to get stuck or bit.

me!  reaching for something in the dark boathouse i found that someone had hung a lure with several treble hooks on it.  thinking that i had been bit by something i drew my hand back really fast and ripped the hook back out of my finger.

so when does the pain and swelling go away?

That had to be rough getting out since I'm assuming a barb was on the end of the hook.  That's one advantage of fishing barbless hooks, they come out a lot easier if you do get one stuck on you. You will have more fish fall off fishing barbless.

no i didnt have to pull it out really.  when i thought something on the shelf had bit me, i pulled my hand out of there really fast and the hook ripped right out of my finger, i bent that hook to straight. yep, there was a barb; thats why it hurts like an mf still.  the outside is healing quite nicely, nothing but a tiny scab now.  i keep my first aid kit with me at all times when i camp/hike/fish etc, so i was able to fix it up right away.  but its still swollen and stiff and blue.  if i flex it or bump it, the pain is tremendous.

That sounds horrible. No wonder it's so sore.  Makes me squirm thinking about it.
