I'm here, and awake...

I have to go pick up a new permit in few minutes, so that's a fun run downtown.

I'm going for a nice walk in the wind and rain after I get back. Toodles.

Good morning, Peeps! It's Friday! Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow in Tennessee. I'm missing the mountains! So, my boy and I are planning some hiking and letterboxing through the Cherokee National Forest. Hopefully, not all the leaves have fallen off yet.

Cool wet morning here.  Not feeling like doing much today.  last night the kids and I went to an art opening called "Toying with Art" at our local art museum.  it was pretty interesting, but I think a few of the artists didn't quite grasp the toy aspect of the art.

hyway....that's so cool bringing the kids to an art show....regardless of what level or genre, etc...being an artist, it always makes me feel good when I see parents bring their kids to a show and personally, I don't take offense if they don't like what i'm doing....its all subjective anywho.... but I do appreciate the willingness to take the time to evaluate the creative process and end results of an artist which might inspire them to be creative....especially the kids....what a feeling it is to see them in awe or mildly interested in a piece of art.....now that's cool!

My daughter is the artist.  I like art and museums, but she is the one that has the creative streak.  Some people we know had pieces in the show.

Busy day.  Gotta hit the Outpost again this afternoon.  I did I mercy mission to it yesterday, but at least I got to see the new floor for the first time.  Beautiful.  I've got to shoe and trim it out, hook up the new stove, discard the old blinds, blast in some storms and we should be about ready for the troops.  A lotta work, but doing it now while everything is out is the best thing to do.

I worked on the Mighty Chevy Toyota the last couple of days.  Did the cap and rotor (which were fried), new K@N air filter and replaced the belts.  That's on top of the new wires and "hot rod" plugs.  The belts were giving it that old "chitty chitty bang bang" effect.  What a f-ing difference.  The thing now has a little punch to it and floats like a butterfly.  I was getting 35-38 mpg combined on average, I can't wait to see what I get now.

Yeah, car maintenance on a weekend. I just bought a 4x4 jalopy I'll have to work on next weekend. It's got a Dodge V8 though and will never get better than 16 mpg. It has a squeaky u-joint or two, and an occasional check engine light, but it climbs small cliffs.
