No snow here; or what was here melted well before sunrise.  Supposed to be very windy this afternoon and it's kicking up a little now.  I'd like to get a couple of feet of snow, but I don't think that is going to happen.  I'm more worried about the ice that's supposed to form later on than snow.  Of course, the 'rons have been out in full force trying to get their snow-legs back.

Got a birthday dinner at an upscale joint this evening; I'll have to bundle up and kick it out early before then.

Have I bragged about the view form my office lately? The window only gets cleaned when it rains, which happened for the first time since last spring on Monday. There have been extra big swells pounding the rocks. Should be whales soon.

If my hair is any indication of how the day will be, I might need to just skip today and go straight into the weekend!

Good Afternoon everyone.....2 weeks until Christmas! Oy vey and i'm still behind on my shopping.....and i'm dreading heading over to the mall but I must battle the Biffs and Muffys to acquire a few items that need hands on attention but ya gotta love online shopping for the rest.......

Bright and very early tomorrow morning so that we can beat the crowds, we're gonna walk across the road, sip a cup of hot cocoa, hop on a horse drawn wagon out to a field of trees, grab a saw and chop me one down.....timberrrrrr.....

And pay no never mind to that man behind the curtain.....peace out.....

A week from today we will be heading to western New York. I'm excited to see my family! My son is old enough now that I will take him around where I grew up and went to school and all that good stuff. There's also LOTS of hiking trails in Allegany State Park, which is right down the road from where I'm from, so we will also be doing some hiking...hopefully in the snow.

I love western NY.  My wife and I fell in love with the area when we went out there a few years ago to meet up with treebeard, mapes, cb and Helinka in Ithaca. Beautiful; have fun.

Speaking of fun; it's finals week!  I've got two back to back today/night, one term project due on Sunday (yes, Sunday) and a biggie project that I had to do a bunch of research on due Thursday.  We'll be meeting at someone's house for that one in the area where one of our two structures are located for our presentations.  This area is nuts; it has the highest income per capitia in the State.  Yikes!

I can't wait for the end of the week.  I'll be able to rest up for a few weeks before the next rounds of beating begin.  This semester has been a real mixed bag; not really a lot of work per se, but just frackin` time consuming.  One of the two projects I've worked on has gotten the attention of the powers that be; so there's like really no pressure there.  lol.

LUNCHTIME!

Well, we took the horse drawn ride out to the field, sawed a beautiful 7 1/2 ft douglas fir down, sipped some hot cocoa and then paid the bill.....$81.50! Sheesh....$10.25 a foot and the cocoa was free! I think an artificial tree might be in the works. Either that or subscribe to the Festivus party and get me a nice shiny steel pole. Although there is a certain quaintness and tradition about the entire tree chopping process....

When the kids got old enough to chop their own dang tree I went with the lighted fake tree. It's so much easier. The kids grumble about it but they haven't gone out to chop a real one.
