How far west do you want to go Grem?  I've heard the Oswegatchie from Wanakena at the end of Cranberry Lake to and past High Falls and back is a classic flat water paddle.

Did that in a canoe with a G/F some years ago.  Wonderful three days.

Sometimes I think it's too bad that all those women turned out to be too good for me (sigh).

How did you keep from tipping over?  lol

At some point this season I'm hoping to do an overnight down part of the upper Hudson from The Glen, between Wevertown and Warrensburg, to Lake Luzerne, just above the confluence with the Sacandaga River.  That may be a bit too far south than what you were thinking though.
