Who's doing what this weekend?
I'm rock climbing this Saturday - it'll be my first time on trad gear. Going to do some pretty low moderate routes.
I can't wait.
Probably mtn bike on sunday.

Roam...you going to try leading?
I have a feeling I'm going to be laying down with my knee packed with ice and elevated....again. I'll know more in an hour or two.

leading? maybe, we'll see how it 'feels' that day. I'd like to give it a go, maybe we'll do the route a second time and I'll try to lead a pitch, knowing the moves and stances the second time around.
The climbing is addicting!

Hey! This place is looking good...
Saturday may or may not be a wine & dine a AT Thru-hiker day, complete with overnight. We'll see how his schedule goes.
There's a dayhike in the weekend somewhere. Either up Mount Tammany on the AT in NJ or the nature trails nearby with the kids.
Not definite yet.

dayhikes rock! When you can't get out overnite, you can at least feel like you got out and did something. Usually get to go somewhere you might otherwise not go.

I agree! Even if its very local, I just like getting out. Due to my work schedual, and having one car, I can't get out to backpack every weekend so I do the bast I can.....even if that makes some folks think I'm NOT a backpacker ;)

I'm doing my annual get together with old friends. Some of us see each other regularly, others no longer live in the PNW so are seen on a less frequent basis. Normally, 3 or 4 of us go on a 5 day death march backpacking trip. We've hit some beautiful spots over the past 10 or so years, but to encourage some of our non-backpacking buddies, we are planning something a little different this year. We're going to set up a nice, luxurious drive-in basecamp near Mt. Baker, then do dayhikes in the area. We're heading out Thursday morning to claim a primo spot, and plan to hike every day between Friday and Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather! Trip report to follow.

I forgot I have a wedding to go to, then I was asked if I wanted to go to Savage Gulf after the wedding. Things are looking up. Next week I pack for my Canada trip :)
