I got out on a peach of a ride the other night. Only 12 miles, some short steep hills, then flat. Found a couple of cool parks, white tail deer, horse farms, limited traffic, good bike routes.

I've been jonesing for a ride lately, but somehow all my weekend time has been booked up. What really gets me mad is that by the time I will get to ride, I will have lost all my conditioning.

Not much. Rode my MTB on the beach, several days. Nothing serious. I'm getting fat. All work and no play...

The other day someone said to me, "I saw this great bike the other day that I just wanted to ride". My response was "Me too. It was in my garage."

I took a nice pavement dive last week. Pretty good case of road rash. Left a few hunks flesh on the road. One knee is pretty banged up. I'm hoping I'll be healed up in time to get back in shape for a big backpacking trip in early August. As long as I'm reasonably healed, I guess I can get in shape on the trail. Had a good 30+ mile trip road, paved trail and dirt trail combined not long before my dive.

Ped, did you get your new bike? I have been riding about 60-100 miles+ a week. Recently, have started cross-training by running three miles. Hope it helps with the cycling.

I did my first ride of the season outside last evening. I've been riding on an indoor trainer all winter and even though it can't really duplicate every motion of riding outside, it did help. I'm not sore this morning and I was able to do a hard ride with lots of climbing and finish feeling pretty good.
I rode a mountain bike with slicks on the roads, but Thursday evening I'll take my other bike out for a woods ride.

Its time. Cross country skiing is pretty much over, the days are getting longer and finally getting warmer and dry. I'm supposed to do a century June 1. I'd better get rolling.

Rode into town yesterday, about 10 miles each way to check out the Bloomsday Run Trade Show. 50,000 people do this race, from serious runners to citizen walkers.
Saw Red Tail Hawk, Canada goose with goslings, Great Blue Heron on the way and a lot of fit people shopping at the Trade Show.

I go out with the local group twice a week after work. We manage to put in about 20 miles at a nice easy pace. I will start hitting the long 40-50 miles rides on Sat. pretty soon

I am finally getting in the groove, with weather, work etc. Nice 45 mile ride last weekend. There is a new tool out in beta, don't know how many have signed up for the beta, they planned on 5000. www.livestrong.com
