They are the people who go by the name "they".  They seem to know a bunch of stuff, seem to be everywhere, and they are always saying something; usually something that is prolific, meaningful, metaphoric and symbolical.

As far as I am concerned, we would not be able to get through our daily lives if they didn't exist.  They are a great group of people.

Right now it's too hot to hike anywhere in the SE and enjoy it....except the crest of the Smokies.

I was at Machine Falls near Tullahoma about a month ago and I had to keep a pretty good pace just to stay ahead of the swarms of mosquitoes.  At a creek crossing a small area was cordoned off with crime scene tape and there were three large garbage bags full of something just sitting in the creek.  I told my brother that's where three poor hikers stopped for a breather and were devoured by the skeeter swarm.  Pretty falls, but I won't be back there again in the summer.  And yes, I was covered with DEET.

That area is nice. My son and I have gone swimming in that area numerous times. It's even too hot to hike in the Smokies.

When I lived in Texas we had one summer with 60+ consecutive days over 100F.  One day it was forecasted to be all the way down to 101-102F after hovering around 110F for several days so I decided to go run around White Rock Lake (back in the day when I ran a lot of 10Ks, half marathons, etc.)  I think I'd made it about 1/2 a mile when I just started feeling awful.  So I slowly walked back to my car, blasted the A/C and drank some water.  I found out that evening it got up to 114F.  Guess I was close to a heat stroke.  The worst part was, it never cooled off in the evenings...it would only dip down into the mid 90s.  That blast of hot air when I'd go outside felt like opening a hot oven.

Well the rocks are still rocks, and have not moved much. I do have photos, but not recently. I have been going into that area during the last 30 something years, not much has changed. Other than the hoards of people.
