Anyone interested in a Thanksgiving trip in the South?  My thoughts are Sipsey, Savage Gulf or possibly a section of the Florida trail in the panhandle.

After a lot of time to surf the web, I have narrowed the possibilities to the Florida Panhandle and the Garden of the Gods in Illinois.

Those are two places I haven't been and want to go.  Anyone hike either of these/

I did a section of the Gods. Where I got my trail name. Haven't back since but it could have been the Sierra nazis that ruined it for me. Nice formations but if it has been raining the horses chew it up pretty good.

Chili -- Like I said before, "Gods" may be doable for me. I'd have to work some things out, but the travel is within reach.  Anything in Florida wouldn't work out, Savage ... I dunno.  I may still have some things around the homestead about the place that Walkindude gave me a while back, or was that Land Between Lakes?  Can't remember right now.  Tenn., though, would be a haul, FWIW.

I am inclined to go to G of G.  I haven't been there, it is on my list of places I want to go and a couple others have expressed interest in going there.

I will work out a full trip plan in the next week or so.

Looking forward to it.  I'll mention it to a few other folks to see what their availability is, if you don't mind.

Like all my trips, it will be an open trip.  I don't mind folks posting private trips and I understand why some of them do it.

But, I haven't been burned yet, so I just extend the invite to everyone.  If stratdewd and arclite can be nice guys to hike with, I am pretty sure I can get along with about anyone.

arc is on my list of "must hike with" for a while now.  The folks I'll be asking don't post on boards and such, but will be high quality folks.  One fella; I've been hiking with at least twice/three times a year with for about 8 years or so now.  Good guy.

To me, that was the essence of TT.  It was a place where you could keep in touch with people you hiked with and those you would like to meet.

Of course, now that I know I am not a backpacker, I have to wonder if my "union card" might get revoked.
