This guy is planning on trying a mega-hike.  Looks like 34 miles a day on average to do it in a year.   It wouldn't have been my idea of fun (or anywhere close to it) even in my prime.

Since Flyin` Brian first did it; "this" seems to have become a pissing match.  If you got the time, ...

You know, I really think so many people are missing the point of hiking. It shouldn't be about the number of miles you can hike, but the scenery and experiences that you encounter during the hike. 34 miles in one day is just stupid. That's my opinion anyway.

Hmmmm, I would like to hike them all, but not like that. Since the North Country Trail is far from completed, I wonder how he will do that one.

NCT has been through-hiked, but only by a very few people.  One guy did it just a couple of days ago.  He had a lot of support along the way.  To me, through-hiking the NCT is much more impressive than the "trendy" A.T.

I can't speak for most of the trail, but the Michigan part is pretty flat. There are sections also that go through too much urban areas for my taste. There are some really beautiful parts in Manistee county though
