Around the first week of May I hope to have the time to backpack a little. Anyone have some ideas for around a 30-40 mile loop down south? Prefer North Carolina, Virginia or West Virginia mountains. I don't like backtracking to reach my truck so want some loops.

Hi FUBAR. Welcome to latta. I don't know of any loops in that area. Try asking on trail talk http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/

They can pretty rude over there, but they're full of knowledge.
