Been good overall, but very busy. The ol' hip issue still keeps me from backpacking anymore, but I did get out in the woods last weekend to scout deer sign ahead of the season and see if I can find a "stand" on nearby county forest land that is a reasonable distance from where I can park my truck.

Glad to see the TT community has an alternative home.

I would have got off the crutches before I got off the drugs.  I hope you are doing well, stu.  Yo tater, come to Linville in January and we'll talk about high literature again.

I've been kinda around; it's that time of the semester when you have to turn on the afterburners and bust a move.

In my course up in Traverse City this past weekend, we toured an old Kirkbride model asylum, the only one still around in the State.  It's basically a great case study on adaptive re-use, related to the many challenges with converting old structures for contemporary uses, with a sustainability focus and keeping significant historical structural features as a means to procure State and Federal tax credits.  This structure and associated buildings and complex is HUGE.  They've been working on it for a while now and are only about 15-20 percent "complete".

If your interested in taking a peak at the place, here's a link:
