Same place as always, Nordhouse Dunes, MI. Details:

The date is set! Mark your calendars. This trip is really all about making sure our kids or young friends have a blast on the trails and around camp. Mileage isn't going to be high and there will be loads of goofing around and playing.

We'll be heading back to Nordhouse Dunes this year. It's centrally located, allows campfires and couldn't be more gorgeous! Get ready for some beautiful sunsets and lots of sand!!

We will need to have national Forest stickers on our cars or pay by the day.

Grown ups without children are welcome. Extra eyes and helping hands are great!

The plan is to meet at the the Nurnberg Rd trail Head at noonish, Friday 7th, we'll leave the Trail Head at 1pm or so then hike in. I will try to have a camp area for us already, so we don't have to search. We can leave a note on my car regarding our where-abouts for stragglers, and perhaps some flags to follow.
After that it's fly by the seat of your pants time. Some swimming, geocaching, hiking and being lazy. There's a cool lighthouse to check out and huge dunes to scramble over, seaglass to find, castles to build, etc.

The walk in will be about 1.5 miles it's sandy but no big deal.

Directions to the trailhead:

From the town of Scottville/ intersection of 10 and 31. Go west on 31 to "Stiles Corner" turn right (north) on Stiles rd. Take Stiles north till it ends at Townline Rd. Turn right and start looking for Quarterline Rd, turn left (north) on Quarterline. Continue north till you see Nurnberg (there is a party store on the corner) Turn left (west). Drive till you hit the trail head (dead end) stay left at the first fork in the rd on Nurnberg.

Still planning on being there.
Hopefully work will oblige me this year and not fall apart again.

Laurel wants to bring her best friend from school with her on this trip. Turns out the dad is a backpacker too. ;)

Cool! The more the merrier. I wish Abby had some friends who backpacked (aside from those scattered all over the country).
