Get the G3, Toe, still the best (www.genuineguidegear.com).  You can get it in the US through www.mountaingear.com.

I want a trail bike (next year) and a rack, kayak carrier and ski box for my new VW Golf.

It may be a while before I get back to avalanche/igloo country.

I wanna kayak trailer.

And my tent, backpack and sleeping bag are getting old.

Roof rack for my new Golf with kayak mounts and a ski box.  Waxless skis (hate them, but now I'm retired I want to ski on days when the temp. is marginal) and a road bike.

I just (to-day) got my retirement statement in the mail.

Whoopee!

I thought I would be hurting when I learned I wouldn't get my first cheque in the first month.  I cancelled my road trip because I thought I'd have no income for June and the kids have been expensive this month.

Well, I got a cheque for two months salary because teachers are paid for ten months and an amount is withheld each pay for July and August.  Instead of no income I got double what I've been getting.

My July cheque will also be double to cover June.  It looks like the wish list will be requited next month.

I think I might just be able to handle retirement.

I've fowarded that tarp to a friend of mine who is pretty tall and is having prblems finding a good tent to use.  Thanks for the post, MarkO.;

I need to get another alky Trangia stove.  I traded mine for a Coleman 442 to use in winter.  I got a good deal on the swap, but I screwed myself for every other season.

Anybody got Christmas lists?

My ideas:

Winter boots that come in extra wide sizes that are better than what I have - all the good stuff doesn't seem to come in width.

A top notch down jacket (I was drooling over the Rab Microlight Alpine Event in "outside magazine"  - but it lists at 400 bucks)

Garmin TOPO U.S. 24K Northeast mapping software
