I made proper (as I could get it) Cajun red beans and rice today. The only problem was no one at the grocery has ever heard of pickle pork, so I had to use ham. It was still really good, and will be even better tomorrow.

Yummy!

My sauce turned out mighty fine tonight.  Fake bread, but ya' know -- pinch was around.

Dinner facilitated a wide dynamic of people including relatives.  2nd degree was thinking about re-upping for more pain.  Pretty confident cuss; thought it would be patriotic, duty and all -- saw a friend lose something overseas and wanted to some how "get it back".

Can't council that stuff.  Support as best as I can.  Homes has a heavy heart.  Pretty brave, but his motivation is in the wrong place -- leaving four kids to go play make up in the sand ... his choice not mine.

Slapped down a triple digit at the local foodery yesterday for a family dinner.  Great Caesars Ghost their ribs are just slightly below mine, the kids love the pizza and the wife has that loving glint in her eye.

As Mel Brooks once said:  It's good to be the King.

Day old spaghetti last night, washed down with brand new beer.  Dishes, I'm running out of dishes.  Time to roll up the sleeves and fill up the sink.

vodka.  i think the soup has two more nights left.  the problem with making such a good soup is that everyone finishes it too soon.  i have some cans of cream of chicken soup, but no veggies and no chicken and no rice or noodles to make any soup or stew with it.

I made cold chicken wraps and tatar poofs last night.  Not too exciting, but it was a nice reminder of warmer months around these parts.

The family is on their own tonight.

I asked about government cheese because when I lived in San Diego we always had a big block of cheese we got from my mother-in-law. My wife's family had always picked up free food from some place in town. Made great grilled cheese sandwiches.

Last night my wife didn't feel well but did the mom thing and threw together some supper. After all the grumbling I was surprised to be served terrific lightly-fried chicken breasts coated in potato flakes and fresh parsley, orzo pasta with pesto and blanched green beans.
