Sorry mapes, I have been thinking about it for the last hour or so, but I have no idea what to recommend as birthday present.
I had soo much family drama about gifts that were regarded as 'unsuitable' or even 'insulting', usually for very bizarr reasons.
Good luck.

camp fiesta island had four dragon boats.  in order to go you needed twenty of your best buddies just to lift the sucker, LOL!  they were a big hit with the boy scouts.

Of course I mean from laughing and playing foolish with the kids.

I heard on the radio that there's a dragon boat festival in Victoria, BC this week-end.

I wish all my weekends were so much fun.
On Friday after work I met my friend and two of her kids. We drove to a picnic place in the mountains, had a BBQ, enjoyed the views down into the lowlands and than lay on our sleeping bags watching for shooting stars. I got a bag night! This one definetly counts. No matter what Nimble will mumble under his breath. We sleep undser the open sky.
:-)

Saturday we had two hours training for the dragonboat race. It was kind of chaotic.
Sunday: dragonboat race at lake Thuner See. It was a fun race, open to everybody who could get a team together. The location was in a castle park, right at the lake. The sun was shining and we sat in the shade of the trees, while waiting for the next run, having picnic. In the background over the deep blue lake were glaciated mountains.
Our team made it to place four. Not bad for a team that had never been paddeling together and some of us had never been in a dragon boat before.
