What kind of ammo do you carry in your pistol. Full Metal, Hollow Point, Blunt Nose, Fragment, Hollow Point lead filled. And do you use standard, +P, or +P+. :)

Currently carrying a revolver instead of a pistol....so i don't guess it matters to you, but I've been using 38 specials-- My Dad's handloads. I should really not use them for "personal defense".  I need to get some factory issue instead.

Why do you ask, and what are you using?

just courious as to who is, and what type, and by the way, a revolver is a pistol, lol. I know you meant not using a auto, lol. I use hollow points, +P, and +P+. Dad's hand loads could be better than factory, alot hotter is possible. :)

A revolver is a revoler..."pistol" has become a catch all term sorta like  the term "handgun", but I  still term a revolver a revolver. It works differnetly than say a 9mm or 45 etc, which is a pistol.  My dads handloads are hotter than factory, which is why I shouldn't use them for self protection...they call them "man killers". As it is I dunno what Dad has loaded, I use em cause they're free ;)

Don't debate on this issue of what is a "pistol".  You mean't to say that a revolver is a handgun...not a pistol.  My information comes from people who understand the difference between a revolver and pistol.  My dad and boyfriend are both veterans, and the the boyfriend has qualified to shoot int he Olympics in past years.  I think he knows what a pistol is.

Get your terminology straight.

Whoop's kinda touchy issue, sorry. With all of that experience you have. And I guess noboby else can have, lol. And being that I can't hit the broad side of a barn, hehehehe. I will take your opinion. A revolver is a pistol. And heaven forbid, not shoot a man with a man killer round. lol

The ATF currently recogizes two types of handguns in basic firearms sales: 1) revolvers; 2) pistols. A revolver has a revolving cylinder that rotates ammo up to the barrel and firing pin.

I am ticked off, too.  Lets not forget title IX and ERA.  If you are gonna have man-killers you need woman killers too.

There are different definitions of revolver and pistol.  But even I, who hasn't fired a shot since summer camp or scouting (I believe it was summer camp), know that for those with a real interest in guns - a pistol has chamber and barrel integrated.

If in doubt of nonconformist's point, check out the stats on p.2 of this pdf:  http://www.atf.gov/firearms/stats/afmer/afmer2001.pdf

Oh and most importantly:  Thrifty, IF a super soaker were a hand gun it would more a pistol than a revolver.
