I shoulda planned on doing that trip with you 32oz. Then maybe I would have been running on the beach instead of riding my bike on the road. You guys have a great time. Wish I was with you.

Yeah, mine hasn't even started yet. Wife's cousin who lives here says he considers summer Sept. - Jan. cuz that's the best weather on the coast.

Anyway, my big trip is next week. I'm trying to get out tomorrow for an overnighter to shake things down.

I am all hyped up about the 2010 Alaska foray.  Is it July yet?

I'm jealous of Tango's Alaska trip - I'll probably just drive up to Northern New England for my big backpacking trip of next summer.

Right now, I'm looking forward to doing some snowshoeing once Fall semester grades are in.

Very nice!  What's the itinerary Jen?

And Tango - what's your Alaska plan?

Tango and I are both going on the Alaska trip that Fridge is heading up.

There's about 4 possible itineraries to chose from. We will be in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.

Oh yeah!  I remember seeing the thread on that trip - it sounds great.

I might join some or all of Crash's White Mountains hike which starts around the same time as the Alaska trip.

Great thread!

Late Summer will be Isle Royale.

As far as Summer hiking I really don't do much of that; too many bugs, bitchies and Boy Scouts.

Hopefully there will be another FYAO in Da U.P. trip.  I missed the last one and I need to get back there.  Cupp's talking 'bout hitting his place for another whack at get sledding.  There's State land that the next parcel south that used to be part of his land back when the old man owned it.  The residence is not there (rumor has it that they dismantled most of it and sent it up to Fayette SP in da UP, but I dubt the validity of that claim), but the foundation and all of the other non-structural parts of the Estate are.  This thing must have been balls-out impressive back in the day.

The semester has cramped my style so much that I haven't been able to bust a move since early Fall.  The New Year brings new hiking opportunities; gotta fill that calendar!

Hi ya Backpackers! :) I've just been communicating w Alaska Airlines regarding my mileage plan w them... since I live out here in Northern CA I used to use them A LOT for business travel and acquired over 250,000 miles, then I switched mostly to Southwest Airlines so I don't fly Alaska anymore... they're telling me I'm going to lose all those miles pretty soon if I don't use them!

SO, I HAVE FREE AIR TRAVEL TO ALASKA!  I'd love to join you guys on your BP trip up there this summer if you're open to having anyone join you?
