One of the guides on the Hood climb knows this guy.  He told me he was going to try for the record.. It looks like he made it....
When we going ?
Stew,

Here is what I'm looking at... First of all I hate saying I'm definately going to do something and then back out, so let me say that at this point I'm about 75% sure that I'll be climbing Rainier.  Most of the uncertainty comes from a possible trip to Maine/VT that I'm not in control of...  That said, here is what I'm looking at...

Trip will most likely be in July (planned around a week long Boy Scout Hike in NY).. Possible itinary looks something like this... (i'll be out there over 2 weeks)

Fly into Seattle..

Stop 1  North to Mount Baker for a couple of days... (quick stop at Bellington to visit the Boundary Bay Brewery an option)

Stop 2 North Cascades Scenic Highway - A lot of gorgeous Hiking

Stop 3 Winthrop WA  home of the Winthrop Brewing CO

Stop 4 Bavarian Leavenworth.. hitting the Andreas Keller Inn for some good German Food -  plan to hit here on a weekend as there are usually some festivals going on  (possible side trip to Mount SI -  Snoqualmie Falls as well)

Stop 5 Mount Rainier  I will be using a guide service, because as much as I would love to think I could do this on my own, I can't. Will use either RMI IMG or TMG (the guides that I used for Hood)

Stop 6 Mount Adams - Possible summit

Stop 7 Columbia River Gorge

Stop 8 Mount ST Helens - Plan to summit this as well

I need to get permits for Mt St Helen's and Adams, and that can't happen until Feb/March so I have time to tweek this...  Also, from what I'm reading some of the camping spots require reservations so I have to work on that....

Obviously this whole thing can be tweeked, but heck you gotta start somewhere....

Suggestions are welcome...
