Trip Report
“I finally have most of the pictures uploaded, and here is the TR..

Landed SeaTac Airport Saturday night and drove down to Portland..

Sunday July 6 Drove down to Silverton OR to the Silver Springs State Park. A gorgeous place with an 8 mile lariate hike that takes you past 10 falls.

Left Silver Falls and set up camp at Daimond Lake Campground http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/564154090swWQWa

in preparation for for an absolutely awesome day at Crater National Park http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/564151556uwoqIM

We then headed up to Paulina Lake to explore The Newberry National Volcanic Park http://good-times.webshots.com/album/564164215EPBWSJ

From there it was one to Timberline Lodge and the climb of Mount Hood with Slammer, Broken Crampon and the rest of the group

we headed back to Portland to see the Columbia River Gorge as well as some site seeing (pictures coming) before heading back down to Bend OR to climb South Sister on Monday..

Finally on Tuesday we stopped quickly at Mount St Helens on the way back to the airport (pix coming)

In all over 2000 miles on a car in 10 days as well as cramming in about as much as we physically could....

Other hi-lites were the Deschutes Brewery, Mount Hood Brewery's Oatmeal Stoudt, Powell's Bookstore and the city of Portland Itself...

I am absolutely in love with OR and have started planning a 2 week trip to WA/OR for next year... A summit of Mount Rainier is in the plan...

The ONLY downside was that due to the severe and long winter a lot of trails/hikes that we wanted to do were closed due to snow....
