Camping
Camping is a very generic term used for outdoor adventures. Most camping trips involve spending the night out of doors in a Tents. Many state and National Parks have campgrounds where people can spend the night. Staying overnight in an established campground is often considered car camping.
Camping can also refer to overnight Backpacking and Hiking trips deeper into the wilderness. On these types of trips, campers will carry all the equipment with them in their Backpacks and setup camp at night. In many parks, campers may only setup camp in existing backcountry campsites. Parks require the use of backcountry campsites in order to reduce the impact on the environment.
Whether you car camp, or go backpacking, be sure to practice the Leave No Trace ideas while in the wilderness.
