What is a Wiki?
Our Outdoor Guide is setup as a wiki. So this means that you can help us add and correct content about your favorite outdoor activities. So what exactly is a wiki? Well, it is a website that allows readers to add content. The most popular wiki is probably Wikipedia. If you want to add content to the outdoor guide, you will need to register for a free account. Once you have an account, you can browse through our pages and add or edit until your heart’s content.
What's Acceptable Content?
We do ask that all content in the guide be related to outdoor activities. You can write about hiking, climbing, national parks, gear descriptions, whitewater rapid naming conventions, angular momentum of cycling gears, outdoor photography, top secret hiking boot tread research, ... the list is endless. Just make sure that you write original content, and you don’t steal or plagiarize anyone. We do also have tracking measures to see who updates what content, so don’t waste your time trying to spread lies or mess up our pages.
What else should I know before I start?
Our outdoor wiki uses special codes to format text. You can read more about these codes in the Wiki Formatting Instructions.
