Just a general thread for those who like whitewater kayaking.

I've been out paddling for the last 6, soon to be 7, weekends. Heading up to VT to climb some peaks, camp, visit Burlington, then running the Deerfield in Mass.

So far this year I've done:

Loyalsock, Class III-IV, PA
Roaring Branch, III-IV, PA
Lehigh, II-III PA
SB Tunk, III-IV, PA
Fish, III-IV NY
Salmon, II NY

So many great rivers around here. Had a couple swims, and some good combat rolls.

I have a used Werner bent shaft carbon composite paddle, very powerful, also very rigid. I'm looking for another boat, thinking of a Diesel. I have a Jackson 4 Fun, but looking for more of a river runner/creek boat.

I live on staten Island NY. Now I know this might turn you off, but trust me on this one..kayaking here is pretty darn cool. We have little water ways on the island it's self, then you have that big thing called "The OCEAN"

free launching, free parking, and you get to stay at the famous

Casa Tree House

now how can you turn that down?

anytime you want.

oh and if you are good, we may throw in a free trip to the Big City via the ferry

ewker, you should get a spray skirt. so if you do go on class two rivers, you stay dry.
I have a 12.5 Arcadia Perception. I love this boat. But I have outgrown her. but, I still keep her around because big daddy treebeard told me NO MORE BOATS

I got this one with the extra space in the storage. it has the same amount as my backpack. I am so into kayaking trips!

but I would get a spray skirt. oh and post pics too lol
