is it for you Ewker?

never been in the Perception but I own the Pamlico. Suggestions...get the phase 3 seating if you get the Wilderness system. Those molded seats really play hell on your booty over long paddles. I love the 10 for the manueverability...but for long distance paddles prefer the 12 or higher.

yeah for me..just a small river rec boat..my 14' is to big for some of the rivers/streams around here.

I went and looked at one yesterday and it is over priced IMO for what you get. This kayak has a hatch cover which is nice on a kayak this small. Then when I saw it it is just a cover to get into the area behind the seat that is totally open and not enclosed. Anything back there will get wet so why even have a cover??

yea....it will. I bought some closed cell foam and made a dry area for mine. It wasn't that hard once you got the pattern. I think the pungo is the only one now that comes with the dry bulkhead.

why the cover? my answer is so they can sell the "kit" they sell..isn't that convenient? (insert sarcasm font!)

In protest I made my own pattern then used a razor blade shaving down the foam...wedged that sucker in there..and siliconed all around it. Every so often I have to reseal it..but not often if you get that foam in there tight to begin with. I got my closed cell foam from Great Outdoor Provision...they'll cut whatever size you need. Then just shave that junk down and keep rollin.

ewker, you should get a spray skirt. so if you do go on class two rivers, you stay dry.
I have a 12.5 Arcadia Perception. I love this boat. But I have outgrown her. but, I still keep her around because big daddy treebeard told me NO MORE BOATS

I got this one with the extra space in the storage. it has the same amount as my backpack. I am so into kayaking trips!

but I would get a spray skirt. oh and post pics too lol
