What is the size of your fleet

What is the size of your fleet

GNM and Nimble made a statement on another thread about boats were like shoes "You can never have to many". I was being heckeled last weekend about having to many boats. I said the same thing to my friends.
Current count:
17 foot Blue Hole tandem canoe
15 foot Coleman tandem canoe
10 foot Buffalo Solo canoe
Advanced Elements Advanced Frame inflatable yak on the way
Considering a Mohawk 14 foot solo canoe
20 foot pontoon
I just sold a Fish and Ski boat.
My yard looks like a land locked marina.

I have been looking at a Mohawk Odyssey 14' solo. It is pricey but it fits what I need ....umm want.

If you are not going to run rough white water I think the best deal going is a Old Town Guide 14'7" tandem. Academy has them for $450.00. A friend has two and he has abused them in some decent whitewater and they have held up well. I would love to get a Pyranha Burn M....maybe next year.

I saw a brand a few weeks ago I've never heard of [www.nativewatercraft.com] Been kind of fascinated with them but don't know enough to say I'd like to add it to the "fleet" yet.

The canoe would be strictly for taking my daughter out. She has been paddling with me but in her own kayak...but sometimes depending on levels I'd feel better with her in a boat with me.

Last year I studied and studied between the Burn and the Stretch. Stretch was what I wound up deciding on....now if I can convince my pocket book off the same!!

Only 2 at the moment. A 12' Wilderness Systems Pungo kayak and a 14' Radisson canoe.

10' Hornbeck Black Jack pack canoe is on my wish list. $1600 is a bit steep for me, but the thing only weighs 12 pounds.

"As a man tramps the woods to the lake he knows he will find pines and lilies, blue herons and golden shiners, shadows on the rocks and the glint of light on the wavelets, just as they were in the summer of 1354, as they will be in 2054 and beyond. He can stand on a rock by the shore and be in a past he could not have known, in a future he will never see. He can be a part of time that was and time yet to come." William Chapman White

GNM I looked at their web site and did not see a 23' boat. I thought maybe two of them had stuck in the mold and morphed into the super yak.

LZ that Blackjack is an awesome looking boat. 12 lbs is crazy light. I would be the only kid on the creek with a carbon fiber boat.

The best part is it's build locally in Pete Hornbeck's modified garage.

I don't recall making that statement, probably that blabbermouth, GNM, Lol. At one time I had 5 boats, an old tri-hull with a 35 horse Johnson, an older rowboat, a 2 seater Kayak, a 14 ft fiberglass canoe and a 12 ft folbot. I got rid of everything but the folbot and picked up an older 17 ft grumman canoe. I don't think it matters much what a person has as long as they can get out on the water. Two big pieces of styrofoam, a plank and some rope could work:)

I had an epiphany today. It was so good, I think I'll have another.

GNM My neighbor is selling a Stretch XL. It is a 62 gallon hull. The boat is pretty clean. Some minor cosmetic scratches but no deep scars. The hull is rigid and has not coffee canned.

Seems like a pretty good deal.

That would be awesome HillBilly but the M/L Stretch was the fit for me. I tested both sizes and the L/XL was just not tight enough feeling even with bags and extra foam. Dang..I wish it was a M!!!

Thanks for posting it though.

I got my canoe out yesterday. I hate that canoe, but I haven't been able to sink it. It is almost 30 years old. A Coleman 15 footer that is warped and misshapen. It handles like a log, but when we were both in better shape I rode that thing on hundreds of miles of premium white water.
