Hey - say if I was gonna wind up in NY for a seminar type thing that ran Mon - Wed and then say maybe I might be able to get up there on the Friday prior..... what would the odds of hitchin a ride to the Gunks for a couple days of climbing be? This is gonna be around mid June if it happens.

I'd say the odds would be about 100% in your flavor. Those good enough for ya?

I tip accordingly to the service provided. ;o)

Hey Roamy - are you heading home after the 18th? Sat and Sun, the 14th and 15th are fine but the Gunks would be much less crouded on a thurs and fri.

If Antonio comes along, climbing on the weekend won't be as bad. Besides being a stronger leader than me, which means more routes to choose from, he's more familiar with finding the routes. I haven't heard from him in a while but I just dropped him an email. Weekdays still would be better and also easier to score a campsite.

It's all good though and will work either way.

Well, I can't say I'm distraught over not being able to list "lap dancing" as one of my marketable skills. ;)

Still, Perkins...middle of the day...during the lunch rush... ;)

Hey, if I pick him up at the airport and head up, where should I point mapquest at?

Who cares what brand or style you got. What color?
Hmmmm, Roamy said he has my spork. Are you taking turns with it?
I reckon a western ho trip might be in order.

You should be distraught. You need to practice practice practice so you can add that skill to your resume. And.... there just happens to be a Perkins right down the street.

So, when you finish practice and commence to friggin Newark, point mapquest to New Paltz. It's right off the thruway, the exit after 84 Newburgh and before the first Catskills exit.

Who is this Antonio you speak of. Isn't he the missing climber that got lost in the Black Forest of Germany???
(B-]

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

hehe.... who has time to take pics?

Maybe tomorrow. Headed for Eldorado Canyon....

Got some work to do. ;)

Once that little stimulus check comes, I'll be purchasing a harness, helmet, chalk bag, some locking biners, and a belay device. :D

I love the smell of new gear in the morning.

Well..... did ya do Eldo?

Forget the stimulus check. Get out the plastic and get everything now. Don't forget the rope. It comes in handy on occasion.

I did my first sport lead in the gym on Tuesday. I screwed up a move above an overhang, missed the hold near the clip and gave my belayer a nice ride. Whipppppppper!

Enabler!

No, I only use a debit card. Plastic is the work of the devil. Gotta wait for the govie to send me my moohla.

Nope, didn't get to Eldo. Had to work late that night. Hell week is over for now. May climb Mon-Wed next week if the weather holds out. hehe

Want to do Eldo and Roam mentioned a 5.5 and a 5.7 in Boulder Canyon.

Sounds like a good night at the gym!

"Plastic is the work of the devil."
So what's your point? ;o)

Work smirk... can't Roamy pull some strings at work? Priorities!

"Sounds like a good night at the gym!"
It would have been gooder if I didn't whip. It's supposed to rain this weekend so I might be back at the gym to give that route another go.
I should be resting a sore shoulder but I'm too antsy.

hehe....

I've got a harness, chalk bag and chalk ready to be used at Eldo tonight, Boulder Canyon on Tue and wherever on Wed. :)

You know you want to move here. Endless possible routes within a 15 minute drive and rain is a rarity.

Oh wait... sorry, they closed the border behind me. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/basic/rofl.gif

You got the last seat? Dang it.
You may not have rain but I hear the afternoon t-storms are legendary.

Rumor has it, and it could be just rumor considering the source, that you got up on real rock this week. You need your own climbing thread with reports and pics and stuff ya know.

Ha!

Yep, I managed an outstide, real rock climb. 5.2, West Crack in Eldo.

Roam keeps dangling rock in front of me. He's just looking for someone to belay him. :p
