So the big AT walk nogranola and I take every spring needs to be rescheduled due to Big Childhood Milestones.
Not ones to waste vacation days, and still not having gotten the summit I wanted for my b-day, we've decided some High Peaks are in order. Damn the mud and blackflies. We have too much blood anyway. ;)
Leaving my house on the 22nd. Backpacking 23rd-25th. The plan includes Wright, Algonquin, Iroquois, Marcy, and Little Haystack. Maybe one or two others before heading home.
Y'all want to come with?

My mighty little Escape fits four and gear in relative comfort.
Where can I order one of those fine Adirondack maps like I've seen The Boneheads use?
I've never had my own................just follow some leader like Bobo or Lumberzac.
(big mistake......ha ha!!)

Then buy thyself some crampons. Even if we don't need them it's fun carrying them around all over the place and never actually sticking them in ice... ;-<
Sorry. I'm working thru that. ;)
crazypace was saying something about a winter trip to Marcy too..sooo..I'm thinking you'll be using them again in short order.

If you're hitting Little Haystack, you might as well hit Haystack as well. It's right there.
BTW make sure you fill up on gas before you cross the NY boarder. At the rate prices are changing it will be well over $4.00 a gallon by then.

"As a man tramps the woods to the lake he knows he will find pines and lilies, blue herons and golden shiners, shadows on the rocks and the glint of light on the wavelets, just as they were in the summer of 1354, as they will be in 2054 and beyond. He can stand on a rock by the shore and be in a past he could not have known, in a future he will never see. He can be a part of time that was and time yet to come."

Hardest as well.
