What do you mean by general community? Just a general message board? It's hard to get traffic for message boards, so you would have to find a bunch of new friends and bring them with you.

Matt, is there a "how to use lattaoutdoors for dummies" tutorial available? My semi-computer-literate brain could use the help.

There isn't a page to list members. I figured most people like to be anonymous and lurk.

Ok, no list of registered members... how about a list showing who is logged in at the moment?

Waitaminnit... in the "privacy options" I can slect an option to allow others to see when I am logged on.

Where or how is that list displayed?

I'm still working on some of those things. This time, I decided to use some premade forum software, so I have to figure out how everything is put together.

The site looks awesome! I'm digging the "brighter" look. Its gotta a nice wholesome pure feel to it. Being an Artist, colour has alot of influence on how people "feel" and what I feel here is something really positive. It feels good. Nice job.....dude! My only opinion, would be to add a little more contrast here and there. The avatars are totally cool and gives the user a bit of a license on self-expression. The 20k requirements are tough though. I'm cryin' like a baby because my Yes logo won't fit. Wah! I do like what you did with the segregation of forum categories but I noticed there was one missing. Oh, maybe add Canoe to the kayaking forum like you did with the snow boarding one. And if you want my complete review of the site, go to....oh never mind its all good!

Ok, I added a list of online users to the front page. If you do not want to be included in this list, then you will need to change your "Privacy Settings" under your control panel.

No. You first have to choose a category then view the threads. I'm not a huge fan of the sub-forum layout, but I thought I would give it a try.

The "search messages" doesn't seem to like common words? I can get a hit looking for "sober" but nothing for "hey" or "everybody".

I like the subfolders. Keeps the different subjects in their own folder and ya don't have to search through all threads looking for that one 'off thread'. I really like this set up.

I just looked and I don't see that option. On the page that lists the thread, there are links for the page numbers and for the last post. Those might help.

How about a trips forum? If someone wants to make a public trip, they can start a thread. It's not as formal as the old trips page, but it will serve the purpose just fine.

Yeah. I do dig the variety of activity forums as well. Keep the fuego off and everything should go well. I will do my part to not flame. And please, don't sell the community :)

yeah, no fuego allowed on this board. That would be awesome. Plenty of places to go on the internet to flame and politicize.

yep, just stick to backpacking and friendly banter. Don't use hot button terms like silly libbies or corporate america and we'll all live happily ever after.
