What's your high temperature limit?

A few summers ago when I started riding, I found that I was just miserable on rides in August. The temperatures just zapped the fun out of it. For me, 90s are too hot. I usually try for a morning ride to beat the heat in those cases.

I went out riding toward evening all summer and liked it better than going out mid day. I don't like being out in the strong sun and the evenings worked for me even on the hottest days.

I'm hoping that the hot 90 degree days are almost over. Now I have to get myself back into a normal ride schedule.

There've been days on the Trek Across Maine when it's reached 100+...
It's really hard riding in those temps and people are pretty quiet.

One year that it was particularly hot, people were really good to us...some had hoses and sprayed us if we wanted, and one guy had a bowl of frozen strawberries and we could grab one as we rode by...people were laying under every shade tree they could find...

People tend to drop out more when it's cold though. We've had one or two Treks like that as well.

Hey Matt, you doing the MS Jack and Back in Oct? This will be the 2nd yr in a row I have miised it.

No, I haven't done that ride. I've been really bummed because I've missed the Harpeth River Ride that past two years.
