I know that professional cycling is suppose to have the largest drug testing program of any professional sport, but this is starting to get ridiculous. 3 people, including the yellow jersey, get kicked out because of doping controversies!? Maybe the cyclists think they need that extra edge over everyone else, but so many of them get caught, I wonder why they still risk it. A few more years of this and no one will even care about TDF or other races.

I still think that it has to do with the number of riders screened. What would happen in the NFL, NBA or MLB if they were testing in season, off season, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world, 365 days a year?

I would like to see cycling compared to other sports not only with the sensational reporting, but also # tested per # participants and #positive per # tested. I think cycling would look pretty good as far as the intent to rid the sport of doping.

Oh, I'm sure cycling is actually doing a good thing in terms of testing. If US professional athletes were tested that much, boy, I'm sure a ton of big names would get busted.

Yeah, I mean, sure, you can bag on cycling for having dopers but the whole country (well, at least some) are getting ready to revel in Barry Bonds' record. The dude went up TWO helmet sizes. Don't tell me he isn't a steroid boy.

I look at this as a long-overdue purging. fans are getting pissed and I think that's a good thing.

Plus, it give Leipheimer a shot at the title.

Forget thebackpacker and get REAL, right here. right now.
