Tour de Georgia

I wasn't paying attention and completely missed this year's Tour de Georgia. It looks like Discovery won.

The thing I don't understand is that this race is in the deep south, so why in the world do you use the "de" instead of the "of". Shouldn't it be Tour 'round Georgia?
